Separation > Introduction
There are two types of separations. One is voluntary resignation and the other, instigated by the employer, is involuntary and usually called discharge or firing. When an employee is separated, the employer’s investment in a particular human asset is lost. This loss may be advantageous or disadvantageous to the organization and the individual involved.
