Executive Orders 11246 & 11375, Rehabilitation Act of 1973

Executive Orders 11246 & 11375, Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Act of 1976, as amended.

Provisions of the orders

Prohibits discrimination against minorities and females, disabled individuals, disabled veterans, and Vietnam era veterans by federal contract or subcontract holders of at least $10,000 per year in single contract or an aggregate of $25,000 per year.

Specific requirements

Requires employers to create two annual affirmative action plans on behalf of the protected classes: one for minorities and one for disabled and veterans. The plan for minorities and females must include an analysis of work groups, job groups, availability, utilization and applicant flow. Additionally, in any area where a problem is found, a plan must be designed to correct the problem.

Implications of non-compliance

Federal contracts or subcontracts, either service or supplier, may be terminated.
