Corrective Action

Organizations expect all employees to perform their jobs competently, behave correctly, maintain an excellent attendance record and always arrive on time.  Fortunately, most employees do. Corrective action counseling provides a way to handle those who don’t in an appropriate, progressive and non-discriminatory manner Occasionally, employees need to have it clearly explained that their performance or behavior is not acceptable and come to an agreement upon what is expected.  In addition to resolving serious performance concerns, the process described here should also be used to address behavioral, disciplinary or safety issues that do not meet the organization’s standards.
